The War.

I'm not sure if we went to Iraq for the right reasons or not. But I do know that the damage is done and pulling out would only make things worse. We have saved the Iraqi people from a horrible man, and given the country security they have never had.
I do have a problem with how the War is going. I understand freeing the Iraqi people from Saddam, saving them from terrorist networks, helping them to protect their country, gaining allies on the war on terror overseas, and using our armed forces to do so. What I don't understand is after taking control of Iraq, (it might not be stable yet, but it is under the control of the United States) why we are not rewarded for what we have done. American taxpayers have invested over 500 Billion dollars in freeing the Iraqi people. With nothing given in return. We might not have gone in for the right reason but if we don't get something back for what we are doing now, we will be in trouble ourselves. Something has to come from our investment and I suggest taking the oil from the oil enriched country we have saved. I would feel a lot better about the War if gas was $1.50 a gallon because of it. 250 billion dollars in oil would do the American economy some good. We could also do a better job of financially support the troops and their families with that money.
If somebody saved my life and then continued to keep me safe, they would expect to get paid or given a token of thanks and I think the USA should get the same.
It's time for Iraq to pay the body/country guard. I don't want every cent back just a nice token of gratitude to help us out back at home.
Avoid telling me they didn't want us there in the first place. I have talked to Iraqi people in the USA and they are so glad that there families have been saved by the USA. No matter what the reason we went there is.

I completely agree. Everyone thinks we went there for the oil in the first place, so screw it, why not profit.
